Top Calming Herbs

Stress is a huge issue in today's society and it is almost unavoidable. The majority of us are living at 100 miles per hour with caffeine fix after caffeine fix fuelling us.


Here are some of my top calming herbs to bring your stress levels down and to incorporate into your routine.


1. Chamomile


Chamomile has been used for centuries as a way to reduce anxiety and bring about a sense of calm. Try switching your afternoon coffee for a Chamomile Tea and you may be surprised how much calmer and at ease you feel!


2. Lavender


Lavender has been used as a way to treat insomnia, depression and anxiety for a very long time. Not only does it have a beautiful fragrance, it's also very beneficial for our stress levels. Using a very small amount of Lavender Essential Oil on your wrists in small doses is a way to reduce stress levels and anxiety and is great to sprinkle on your clothes as a way of bringing calm into your day as the scent remains.


4. Lemon Balm


Lemon balm is another herb which has been used for centuries to reduce stress, anxiety and depression. It also aids with sleep and improves your digestion. Taking lemon balm daily has also shown to improve mood and boost alertness. I would definitely recommend getting some lemon balm and consuming a few drops per day!


5. Ashwagandha


Ashwagandha is another herb which is known for it's anti-stress and anti-anxiety properties. Taking a few drops of Ashwagandha tincture per day is not only great for your stress and anxiety levels, it has also been shown to be anti-cancer and full of immune boosting properties.
