After battling my own skin health journey and overcoming severe eczema and dermatitis by my creating my own natural remedies and changing up my diet, I wanted to share some of the top herbs and natural remedies which worked for me to reduce my dermatitis and eczema and get my skin glow back.
Fresh Aloe Vera is my absolute skin saviour. The gel from the aloe vera plant is incredibly soothing, anti-inflammatory, high in Vitamin E and C and is hydrating. It also contains anti-microbial properties which kill bacteria on your skin and therefore reduces the risk of developing breakouts. Using fresh Aloe Vera gel direct from the plant or using a store bought 100% Aloe Vera Gel and applying it to freshly washed skin is a great way to get the direct effects of it's medicinal properties and to feed your skin. Aloe Vera is a very easy and inexpensive plant to grow and keep in your home so using the gel directly from the plant if you can is ideal for ultimate freshness and at minimal expense.
Chamomile is very anti-inflammatory, soothes red skin and leaves skin looking and feeling fresh and youthful. Drinking chamomile tea or applying cooled chamomile tea to your face are both great ways of benefiting from this medicinal plant. Personally I like applying cooled chamomile tea direct to my face after it has been freshly washed to really feed my skin direct and I have found this to be the most effective way to use chamomile in my skincare regime. Chamomile is also very inexpensive and really does help clear up dermatitis and eczema and evens out skin tone.
Using fresh turmeric powder in my face masks has really improved the texture and appearance of my skin. I have found turmeric to soothe any redness or irritated areas on my skin and also assisted with evening out my skin tone. Turmeric nourishes the skin giving it a natural radiance and soft texture.
