Here are 3 of some of my health hacks which can easily be implemented into your routine to assist with boosting your metabolism, improving your digestion and flushing your body out of toxins.

1. Begin your day by drinking lemon water.

Slice a lemon in half and squeeze both halves into a large glass of water and drink it in the morning as soon as you wake up. Lemon water has so many benefits and I cannot recommend this enough! Lemon water is an excellent source of Vitamin C, aids with digestion, contains high amounts of antioxidants and enhances your immunity!

BONUS: ​An extra h​ealth hack​ and to flush out any excess water weight is to add a charcoal filter, a sliced quarter of a cucumber, a squeeze of lemon and a handful of fresh mint to your water bottle. Keep it topped up with water during the day and keep drinking this infusion throughout the day. This infusion will assist with flushing excess water weight and toxins from your body and assist with reducing bloating and constipation.


2. Swap your table salt for Himalayan salt.

This small shift can have a huge benefit to your health. Conventional table salt is stripped of many nutrients and minerals as it is very heavily processed. In general, the only mineral left in table salt is sodium and during the process of making table salt it goes through extensive bleaching which contains toxins that are highly disruptive to our health.

Himalayan salt on the other hand is one of the purest forms of salt available to us. It contains over 84 minerals and trace elements, improves our digestion and balances our bodies pH levels due to its rich mineral content. It has also been said that Himalayan salt can assist with sleep and reducing insomnia due to its mineral content.

It is definitely worth switching up your usual table salt with Himalayan salt to get all these added health benefits without having to think about it!


3. Start the day by eating fresh fruit for breakfast

Eating fresh fruit for breakfast is a great way to boost your immune system, digestive system and wake your body up. After drinking a big glass of lemon water, make yourself a bowl of fresh fruit containing berries, citrus fruits such as oranges and grapefruits and apple. Eating fruit on an empty stomach is the most effective way to eat it as the sugars are absorbed quickly by your body giving you energy and boosting your metabolism. Fruits also contain an abundance of vitamins and minerals which your body will absorb first thing in the morning setting you up for a great day.


Eating a heavy breakfast such as porridge, although may be necessary in some instances, can lead to your body tiring out earlier in the day as it takes hours for the porridge to be digested so it is using up energy rather than providing it.
