Fat: Eating fat will make me fat...right?

Fat: Eating fat will make me fat...right?
We have been taught that this is true because it makes perfect sense right? From a caloric perspective, that seems to make sense. Dietary fat contains nine calories per gram, versus the four calories per gram for carbs and protein. So if you eat less fat, you’ll eat fewer calories and you’ll lose weight, right?

There are different types of fat, but with regards to healthy oils and healthy fats this statement is inaccurate ; not to be included in the same ‘bad fat’ bracket such as the Trans Fats; hydrogenated oils or processed vegetable oils such as sunflower oil.

Healthy fats stabilize blood sugar, increase our satiety, decrease risk of diabetes by preventing insulin spikes and improve heart health.

Make sure you add healthy fats to every meal. You can do this by drizzling some extra virgin olive oil, sprinkling some nuts and seeds or adding avocado to your meals. These types of healthy fats will also regulate your peptides and satiety hormone and therefore reduce hunger cravings if included in meals on a regular basis.
